The Gospel of James, also known as the Protevangelium of James, is an apocryphal gospel that provides an account of the birth and early life of Mary, the mother of Jesus, as well as the miraculous birth of Jesus himself. It was not included in the biblical canon but was influential in early Christian traditions.
