Published in 1977, 'The Shining' is a horror novel by Stephen King. It tells the story of Jack Torrance, an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the isolated Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. His young son, Danny, possesses 'the shining', psychic abilities that allow him to see the hotel's horrific past.
I always die some Stephen King does something like that. I don't think he dies in them though.
""Stephen King is mentioned as an author who makes cameo appearances in his adaptations. To fulfill the rule of including a relevant book when an author is mentioned, 'The Shining' is chosen as one of his most iconic works."
